What a Difference a Week Makes

I had a busy week. What started out as a regular Monday turned into a whirlwind of a week.

My friend called me Monday and asked to meet for lunch. I happily agreed and had a lovely afternoon. Tuesday was busy with a 6 hour workshop. I always enjoy learning, so it was a nice day. Then Wednesday I tutored and then met two other friends for lunch. I used a coupon, so my friend could eat for free!

The BEST part of my week was Thursday. I went to tutor early and was driving home wondering what I would do for the rest of the day - GO TO THE POOL of course.

My cell phone began to ring. A ring I did not recognize, I pulled the phone out of my bag to look at the number. It was a call I had been waiting for ALL MONTH!!!!!!!!!!! No, I did not answer it because I do not talk and drive, but I could not wait until I arrived home to check my voice mail!!!!

The school I was working at last year from March to June had called me. The principal asked me back for the first semester. I am SO excited!

I can spend the month of August thinking about teaching reading and planning for September instead of feeling stress about not knowing if I would be subbing or working. I am excited and nervous at the same time!

I am so happy!

Ahh... Summer

This is how I feel this week:

One more month of joyful relaxation!

Sure, I have a workshop to go to, but I love learning, so it's all good!
Sure, I have to tutor three mornings a week, but I get to choose my own lessons, which is very good!
Plus, the DH will be off for a week, and we have some very fun days planned!

Side Note: Thank you Bill Watterson for Calvin and Hobbes. They always put life in perspective!

And so it begins................

The DH found this on the web and I asked him to e-mail it to me! Now anytime I say something cranky, I also say "No one understands crabby people" He cracks up.

Honestly, I have been enjoying summer. I have taken a teaching workshop, enjoyed the pool as much as possible, read two books, seen friends, cleaned and organized... and ate too much the week the DH was on vacation. It has been a wonderful July.

I had my first crabby day this past week - for a few different reasons, which I do not feel the need to go into right now. It happens about this time every year. I begin to worry about September, I begin to feel like I am not doing enough and summer is slipping away, and I begin to feel restless.

I often wonder........ how do people do it day after day when they do not work. I have been on vacation for five weeks. A part of me is loving life... the weather is great, I love to swim, I love the freedoms I have during summer..... but the other part of me is restless...

I am ready for my routine again... Such the internal debate I have.

Does anyone else go through this ???
