My DH is a news junkie. He reads it daily, he watches it for 2 hours every evening, and he also listens to it on the radio! We wake up to it and he falls asleep to it. It use to drive me crazy, some days it still does.
However, in the time we have been married, I have learned a lot and actually can participate in a conversation about current events which I could never do before we met. My DH also introduced me to NPR. We listen to it from time to time. This AM we were driving around and I turned it on because I love the Sunday morning show " Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me" which is a game show of sorts related to the news. There was a funny little joke by one of the host which went something like this ....
A news reporter used a kayak to spy on the clean up of the oil spill and guess what they were using to clean up the oil spill.....
Paper Towels !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The host replied, "Oh what geniuses we have ... cleaning up one environmental problem and causing another one at the same time by using an over abundance of paper towel, made by trees, to clean up a spill the size of the super dome."
I could not help at laugh at the response. It was so to the point of the way people think today.... Two steps forward with three steps back! We have good hearts, we want to do the right thing for the environment... and yet we still only get about 50% of it right!
Makes ya wonder........
