In 7 more days I will be able to shout:

I had lunch today with my 5th grade students. It was nice. We talked about summer plans and just enjoyed each other's conversations. I will probably have lunch with them on our sports and game day. Just in case things get crazy, I wanted to make sure I was able to spend one last lunch with them. They are moving off to middle school next year. A few kids asked if I wanted to be their reading teacher in 6th grade. That is a sweet thought, but it is just not going to happen.

I taught 6th grade a few years back as a long term substitute in the spring. It was great. Teaching reading all day was heaven, but these jobs are the ones everyone wants! To be a 6th grade teacher is nice b/c there are a lot of perks! I loved it at the time, but I really feel my place is in an elementary school.

There is not much left for me to do this year. A few remaining lessons with my other students and then we have our school picnic next week! I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone.

This job has been a precious gift. I hope I am lucky enough to have this gift again next year!
